Our Host Hotel: Clarion Hotel and Conference Center
The Clarion Hotel & Conference Center has a comfortable lobby, a convenient restaurant, and a very friendly bar for the after-dance crowd.The hotel is offering a group rate of $94 per night per room, plus tax. The hotel is about a mile from the dance venues.
Remember, you must make your own arrangements with the hotel. Mention that you want a room in the DC Lambda Squares room block. To get the $94 rate, you must make your room reservations before October 7, 2008. After that date, the block will be released, and you will pay a substantially higher rate.
Shepherdstown has other lodging options in town, too. The Thomas Shepherd Inn B&B is a nice, intimate guesthouse on top of downtown. For a more continental perspective (and remember the exchange rate...) the Bavarian Inn, may be the next best thing since the Munich Bier Garten. Check out their restaurant: authentic cuisine and subtle Bavarian ambiance for you spaetzle lovers. The Comfort Inn offers no-nonsense accommodations for the budget conscious. Both the Bavarian Inn and the Comfort Inn are a little more than a mile from the dance venues.
