Club Night Last Week - Visitors Out the Wazoo
SPREKEN ZEE DOITCH? YAH?
Yes. We know. It's really Sprechen Sie Deutsch?
The DC Lambda Squares club loves guests and Thursday night was a doozy.
Ingeborg and Bernd from Bergheim, Germany, stopped by on their whirlwind tour of parts of the U.S. AND…..are you ready for this? Ingeborg is a CALLER. Naturally she called for us. (Her music was 'Bei Mir Bistu Shein'.) Ingeborg has a beautiful voice, by the way.
We are going to introduce Ingeborg and Bernd to Michael Priser who will be moving to somewhere in Germany soon. Maybe they will be near one another.
AND SO….. the dear Mainstream students who came to club night had this great opportunity. They danced to not just one different caller than they are used to (Chris called on Thursday night); they got to dance to Ingeborg as well. This experience helps round out their lessons in ways that a class cannot quite do. So all you students who came on Thursday, you did yourselves a real favor.

AND…..we had another visitor. Walter Wilson from Temecula, California, stopped by. He dances with the Grape Stompers though Temecula looks to be far south of Sonoma and Napa. We thank Walter for coming to dance with us and we look forward to seeing him soon at Weave Your Heart.

As always, Chris gave us smooth calling, his great singing voice, and a little dry humor now and then ("Very shortly I'm going to call…..")

Onto the other side of the world we find Michael Priser who has taken his extreme personal likability skills to the excellent square dancers of Japan.

Lambda people, the club is holding an open house to exhibit the fun of one of our favorite activities to new people. One fine way to show how much we enjoy square dancing is for everyone to show up and dance, greet your friends, perhaps make new ones.
