DC Lambda Squares is a lesbian- and gay-inclusive square dance club serving the Washington, DC metropolitan area. The club provides opportunities for members, visitors, and guests to dance in non-traditional roles and a comfortable environment for socializing around square dancing activities. The club fosters relationships with other square dancing clubs and organizations and with social, educational, and charitable organizations within the lesbian, gay, transgendered, and bisexual communities.

- The DC Lambda Squares club has a responsibility to foster and strengthen relationships with other square dancing clubs.
- The DC Lambda Squares club has a responsibility to strengthen its relationships with individuals and organizations within the lesbian, gay, transgendered, and bisexual communities.
- The club encourages square dance instruction such that calls are taught from enough different positions to help members:
- become capable and flexible dancers
- learn correct definitions
- easily move on to learn and dance at higher square dance levels when they are ready and wish to do so.
- The club adds to the members' enjoyment of square dancing through a variety of activities, calls, callers, styles, and dance levels.
- The club has a welcoming policy and provides activities and opportunities that integrate new and experienced members into the dance and social life of the club.
- The club from time to time highlights and promotes events that reflect the many varied interests of club members.
